Justice Beyond Borders: A Panel Discussion on the Future of International Criminal Law

The Institute of Comparative and Transnational Criminal Law is announcing a conference to explore the evolving landscape of Criminal Law and International Criminal Law. This event is organized under the Volkswagen Science Foundation Project "The Role of International Criminal Law in Georgia," aims to discuss the future of International Criminal Law.

 

Who Should Participate?

The conference is accessible to bachelor's and master's law students from accredited universities in Georgia.

 

Presentation Topics Could Include, but Are Not Limited to:

  • The role of international criminal law in addressing global conflicts
  • The effectiveness of international tribunals and courts
  • Human rights law and its enforcement across borders
  • Challenges in international criminal prosecution
  • Emerging trends in transnational law and cybercrime
  • Crimes of aggression and the role of the International Criminal Court
  • War Crimes and Accountability Mechanisms
  • Emerging trends in transnational organized crime

 

Steps to Participate:

  • Submit an abstract (300-400 words) outlining the focus and significance of your proposed presentation.
  • Include your name, university, program (LLB or LLM), and contact information with your submission.

Submission Deadline: April 26, 2024

Date: May 18, 2024

Venue: Specific details will be provided to registered participants and selected presenters.

Language: The conference and all presentations will be conducted in English.

 

Upon the completion of the conference, all participants will receive certificates of participation from Tbilisi State University. This certificate will recognize their contributions and engagement in this significant academic event.
